ENTERTAINMENTS.
J. C. WILLIAMSON VAUDEVILLE. The J. C. Williamson Celebrity Vaudeville Company will commence its Auckland season at His Majesty's Theatre tomorrow. Ten acts are included in the programme. The leading attraction will be Joseph Belmont's Canary Opera, described as an amazing novelty act, direct from the Ziegfeld Follies, New York. The well-known London comedian, Dick Henderson, who has several times performed before Royalty, has a prominent place on the programme. Rich and Adair, popular American artists, will present "The Flower Vemdor" and Valencia, a Spanish trapeze expert, will perform some remarkable feats. Other items will be contributed by "Les Zenga Freres," novelty dancer, Marie Lawton, the "Singing Harpist," the Lee Sisters, acrobats, Colin Crane, baritone, and Stella Lamonde, soubrettte. Music will bo supplied by Mr. G. Frost and his orchestra. Box plans are reported to be filling rapidly. Booking arrangements are advertised. PRINCESS AND TIVOLI. Both comedy and drama are provided by the programme now showing at the Princess and Tivoli Theatres. W. C. Fields and a strong supporting cast provide the comedy in " The Potters,' which tells how the despised head of the family, after many amusing failures, makes a lucky speculation in oil-bearing land and brings his family wealth. Drama, relieved by light comedy, is found in " The Gallant Fool," in which Billv Sullivan plays the part of a young American who exchanges identities with a prince. At the Princess Theatre only, Zamoni, conjurer and ventriloquist, appears in mystifying illusions and also, as a lightning cartoonist. NATIONAL THEATRE. The current programme at the National Theatre is eqntinuing to attract large audiences. A Warner Brothers' production, " Across the Pacific," is the chief attraction and deals with the exploits of a young American soldier, serving in the Philippines, at the time of the insurrection which followed the SpanishAmerican War. Monte Blue is seen in the leading role, while other prominent parts are 'Mled by Jane Winton, Mvrna Loy and Walter McGrail. " The .False Alarm " is a splendid story dealing with the adventures of a young fire-fighter. The fire brigades of Los Angeles and Hollywood appear in the film, which contains several realistic scenes of a large city fire. A comedy and the latest gazettes complete the programme. EPSOM REGENT. " All Aboard," a bright comedy, heads the programme at the Epsom Regent Theatref. Johnny Hines plays the leading part. Little Jackie Clarke, clever juvenile comedian, will appear for the last time. A comedy, gazette and scenic complete an attractive programme. PRINCE EDWARD THEATRE. " The Fighting Doctor " is the principal feature ofTo-day's programme at the Prince Edward Theatre. The story is full of swift action, and contains a remarkable series of scenes of a wrestling match. A vaudeville programme, consisting of six acts, will be provided, and the third series of the popular -Mystery Contests will also be presented. MUNICIPAL BAND. An enjoyable musical programme was rendered by the Municipal Band, under the baton of Mr. Christopher Smith, in the Town Hall last evening. Outstanding numbers were the opening march, " Vimy Ridge," by Bidgood, which was well received, the overture to Wagner's " Tannhauser," and the ever-popular melodies, " Intermezzo " and " Barcarolle." Mr. Fred. Bowes contributed a cornet solo, " Sing Me to Sleep," by Greene, which was most enthusiastically received. . On Saturday evening the Municipal Band will present a varied programme, consisting of the overtures " Poet and Peasant," " Rienzi," " William Tell," and " Morning, Noon and Night," instrumental solos, and a most entertaining potpourri, "Tangled Tunes." The New Zealand Four will give two novel items, " Old Time Tunes and " A Plantation Medley," and Mr. Roy Dormer, tenor, will sing, " Questa o Quella," by Verdi, and Gheel's " For You Alone."
