RACE AGAINST TIME.
FATAL MOTOR DRIVE. ATTEMPT TO BEAT TRAIN. (Received June 29, 8.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z.-Sun. VANCOUVER, June 23. A message from Council Grove, Kansas, states that Samuel Klein was killed and his father, Morris Klein, seriously injured in a motor-car accident this evening. The two men were attempting to reduce by seven hours the time of 63 hours which it takes the railway train to cover the 24<fb miles between Chicago and Los Angeles. Their motor-car crashed into a concrete culvert to the east of Council Grove..
