PEDESTRIAN ROUTES.
Sir, —If in this petrol ago a mere pedestrian may crave attention, I should like to ask through your columns whether there are any goorl walking routes of easy access from Auckland. I like to stretch my legs in congenial surround ings of a Saturday afternoon, but so far in Auckland, except behind the lawn mower, 1 have found no route that it not uncomfortably covered with motorcars. There is no pleasure in walking under the constant threat of assault and battery from front and rear, apart from the, noise of the cars and the annoyance of being either sprayed by mud 01 sprinkled with dust according to the weather. I feel sure there are brother pedestrians in Auckland, and, if they know of good walking routeo as yet undiscovered by me, that they will gladly share their knowledge. Motorist's have their organisations to map routes for them and agitate for better roads, so why not a Pedestrians' Association ? Pedestrian.
