I REPORTS OF MANAGERS. Alburniu.—The western crosscut h:is been extended IStlft. to 196 ft. The rock ia still lof an extremely hard nature. There ia now a little water oozing through the heads, which may be nil indication that we are nearing the western wall of the bar. In the stope over the intermediate level the work in hand has been timbering and filling-in the north end It will take until next Wednesday to complete this work. Wo had occasion twice this week to break down a little of the rcjf and in each case we seltgjted a little picked stone, this was from'the north end of the stope where previously we have seen very little values. The drive on the hanging-wan branch of the-Orlando reef has been extended from 12ft. to ISft. There is a further improvement in the values of the ore broken in this level The reef now 3hows a width of IRin,. and generally has a splendid appearance for making rich values. The country rock encasing the reef is of 'i good class with a fair number of mineral seems intermixed. Kuranui.—The cleaning out of old battery level has been extended COft., a total of 599 ft. from surface. The level is still open, but is over half full of mullock and shish. In another fortnight we should have this level cleaned out and in good order for the required distance. New Wniotfihi.—The drive hillward for the Wn'otahi-Oambrin reef has been advanced l°ft., and two sets of timber placed in nrsi(ion for the week The country beini! penetrated is the same as that passed through some distance and will require timbering When this country is passed through the reef may bs expected.
