PROTECTION FOR FARMERS.
Sit, —Mr. Frank M. Hills says that there is a duty on butter and cheese, which is doubtless correct, but implies that these duties benefit the farmer. Will he give us an estimate of the amount by which farmers' incomes have been increased by the operation of these duties in, say, the last 10 years, and details of how he arrives at his figures?
