Fortunately, small economies may still be practised in unseen, unrevealed, unOTessed directions. As wo all know, stockings, even the best of them, owe their unruffled existence to suspenders, the modern substitute for garters. Suspenders, under too great strain, occasionally fail to prove stronger than the weakest link and give way with an abruptness more or less disturbing, according to circumstances. The fact need not. necessitate expenditure on a new pair. Examine the suspenders for the purpose of discovering the cause of the disaster. The elastic, quite likely, has become worn out.
