WOMEN TEACHERS.

MARRIAGE DIFFICULTIES. REGULATION IN AUSTRALIA. A motion protesting against the compulsory payment of bonds by women teachers leaving the profession to be married before the expiry of the term for which they contract to serve came before a special meeting of the council of the Public School Teachers' Federation in Sydney recently. ' The motion was supported by a male teacher who argued that it was foolish to discourage marriage on the one hand and pay out thousands of pounds for immigration on the other. The resolution was lost. There were 24 members of council present. 14 of them being men.
