SALE OF AMMUNITION.

LICENCE NOT OBTAINED. PEA-RIFLES WITHOUT PERMITS. A charge of selling ammunition without a licence was preferred against David Walker Robertson in the Police Court yesterday. Defendant stated ho had purchased a store at Silverdale and some ammunition was included in the stock. He was unaware that he required a licence to sell it. A fine of £2 was imposed. Roy Anderson Page pleaded guilty to procuring possession of a pea-rifle without a permit. Defendant said he was unaware a permit was required, but took the riflo to the arms office to be registered immediately on purchasing it. lie was then told he had committed an offence. Defendant was fined 10s. For a similar offence Arthur John Denby was fined £l. On a charge of having a shot-gun in his possession for more than a week, without being the registered owner, Michael Butler was fined £l.
