Referring to the three test matches played in Sydney Professor Boyd Wilson,. manager af tho New Zealand University Rugb.v team which returned this week, said in the first place the Sydney University team was superior to the New Zealand fifteen. The Sydney backs combined well and the men on tne wings were faster. The first test a fast, brilliant game, and the Sydney men showed themselves to be great opportunists. The New Zealand forwards played Well, but the backs were disappointing. In the second match New Zt-aland adopted different tactics, and never allowed the Sydney team to get away with the play. The visitors had the better of the game, and the forwards played a great style. For the final test tho New Zealand team endeavoured to continue the same tactics, but the forwards did riot get going for about 15 minutes, arid in that time the Sydney fifteen nut on eight points. Play in the second half was very fast, and at one stage New Zealand led 15—14. Sydney, however, put on another three points before the end, in spite if the fact that the New Zealand forwards finished very strongly. Speaking of senior grade football in Svdl*!y. Professor W : ilson said that the leatling tennis, such as Glebe. Balmain am] University, were equal, especially in bad;, pla.v, to •ny club team in Wellington. The backs flayed a. very fast game. DIFFERENCES IN WAIKATO. INVESTIGATION TO BE MADE. [Br TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Thursday. Tho differences that have existed between the Hamilton sub-union and the Waikato Rugby Union for some time, and which led to the Hamilton body withdrawing affiliation from the parent organisation since the beginning of the season, are to be investigated by a delegation of three members of the New Zealand Union in Hamilton oil Saturday. Among the complaints alleged against the Waikato Union are that Hamilton had inadequate representation on that body in view of its large membership, and its position in relation to playing fields; that tho Waikato Union endeavoured to go past the Hamilton Union in its efforts to obtain grounds; that Waikato Union fixtures interfered with Hamilton olub fixtures; that Hamilton sub-union players were not exempted from selection in unimportant representative matches, thus upsetting club fixtures.
