OBITUARY.

MR. JOSEPH, HOUSTON.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AWAMUTT7, Tuesday.

The death occurred at To Awamutu this morning of Joseph Houston, aged 82, an old settler, very highly respected. Mr. ; Houston was born in Ireland. After serving with his father in the produce business for some years he came to NewZealand and worked in Christchurch. Ha then went farming and moved to Tarr.naki in the early "eighties."' Afterwards he took up a large block of country beyond the Mokau, near Mahoenui. About 20 years ago he came to the Te Awamutu district, and farmed at Parawera until advancing years caused him to retire. Sir. Houston leaves a widow and family.
