WEDDINGS.

A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Andrew's Church yesterday morning when Miss Is]a Thorn Speedy, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Speedy, Carruth Road, Papatoetoe, was married to Mr. Walter Morton Paul, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Paul, Mangere. The F»ev. Lamb Harvey officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory satin gracefully draped and ruched on the hip. Her tulle embroidered veil was caught round the head with sprays of orange blossom and she carried a bouquet of white cyclamen and roses. The chief bridesmaid. Miss Rene Paul, wore a frock of cyclamen-shaded crepe de chine, with hem of velvet in a deeper shade, and Miss Mildred Speedy wore almond green crepe de chine with hem of deep green velvet. both wore tulle veils caught with bandeaux of silver leaves, and they carried bouquets of pink cyclamen. Mr. Douglas Speedy was be§t man and Mr. Alan Paul groomsman.

The wedding took place in St. Mary's Church, Baetihi, on Saturday evening, of Miss Evelyn Howard, only daughter of the late Mr. John Howard, and Mrs. W. G. Russell, to Mr. Harold H. Bowater, son of the late Mr. Richard Bowater and Mrs. Bowater, of Sanson, Manawatu. The Rev. J. H. Watson officiated. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. W. Howard, of Timaru, wore a charming frock of primrose satin charmante, trimmed with gold, gold shoes, and a handsome embroidered tulle veil, held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of jonquils, white chrysanthemums, pink roses and asparagus fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Alice Horsack, of Waimate, and Miss Alice Russell, stepsister of the bride. They both wore dainty frocks of mauve brocaded craychene, trimmed with silver, and coronets to match, and carried bouquets of mauve chrysanthemums. Mr. W. Bowater, of Sanson, brother of the bridgroom, acted as best man.
