The Wellington Automobile' Association last night passed a resolution of protest against any further taxation being imposed on motorists under the Hutt Road Amendment Act, as administered by the City and Suburban Highways Board. This is in reference to a proposal to widen tho bitumen to 40ft., which, with other needs, entails a prospective loan of £IOO,OOO, and to meet the interest, there is a suggestion that the present special charge of 30s on motorists bo raised to £2.

The need of widening the bitumen is a question in keen dispute.
