DAIRY CONFERENCE.
INDUSTRY IN AUSTRALIA. PESSIMISM OF PRESIDENT. (Received June 7, 10.46 p.m.) A. nnd N.Z. SYDNEY, June 7. The annual conference of the Dairy Factory Managers ami Secretaries' Association was opened to-day in Sydney. Delegates from New Zealand and the United States are present as guests.
In his opening speech the president said that, as a result of droughts, bush fires and floods in tho past season, tho price of dairy produce had not been commensurate with the work done and the capital involved. If under the present conditions women and children were withdrawn fioni 'or debarred from assisting on dairy farms the industry would be defunct in less than 12 months.
