PROSPECTS FOR FARMERS.
" A GOOD YEAR AHEAD." WOOL AND BUTTER PRICES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION, j FOLDING. Saturday. Reference to the prospects for farmers was made by the president of the Feikting Agricultural and Pastoral Association, Mr. J. *G. Elliott, at the annual meeting last evening. He said the wool outlook was good. There was a very small carry-over from the last* clip, amf prices were satisfactory, with bright indi cations for next season's clip. Butter prices were rising. He expected a good year ahead fir dairy farmers* Referring to the farmers' difficulties, he said the present system cf rural finance was unsatisfactory. Financial institutions, especially the bants, thought only erf the;r dividends. The Arbitration Court system was operating to the detriment of the farmers. Labour leaders and their foi lowers took a distinctly class view. Mr Elliott said he would do his best in Pa rim ment to give the farmers a better systeui of rural finance, and to improve their conditions in other ways.
