A MORNING TEA.
The lounge at the Lyceum Club looked most attractive with great bowls of golden yellow chrysanthemums on Saturday morning, when the president of the club, Mrs. W. 11. Parkes, and the committee entertained at morning tea Mrs. Gordon Coates, wife of the Prime Minister. A very cordinl welcome to the guest of honour was expressed by Mrs. Parkes, and in reply Mrs. Coates said she was greatly pleased with tho reception extended to her. She was very much interested in all women's organisations, and while in England had come into touch with many institutions that were entirely managed by women. Mrs. Coates, who was presented with a bouquet of violets, was pleased to accept an honorary membership of the club. Mrs. Parkes was wearing an ensemble suit of amethyst, sedan cloth and a panne velvet hat with bird of paradise plume in shades of amethyst. .Mrs. Coates wore a frock of black mirror crepe and a black hat finished at tho side with a cluster of ospreys.
