BOXER AS LICENSEE.
FINE FOR TOMMY BURNS. POLICE AND EX-PUGILIST, LONDON. May 3. The ex-heavyweight champion of the world, Tommy Burns, was fined £ls at Newcastle-on-Tyne for permitting drinking after hours at his hotel. The police visited the hotel at 11 p.m. and discovered four drinkers. Burns became most excited and squared up in a fighting attitude. A constable seized Burns, who immediately cooled down.
