A. and N.Z. HEW YORK. May 9. There were tornadoes and blizzards in Kansas, lowa, Wyoming and Montana at the week-end.

They, caused at least 12 deaths and did damage estimated at many thousands

oi pounds. Most of the victims lived in the vicinity of Hutchinson, in the State of. Kansas. The hurricane was accompanied by cloudbursts, which demolished SOO houses and further raised the already swollen streams.

Snowstorms have crippled communications in some districts in the western parts of the States.
