TROTTING.
. SEASON S FIXTURES. May 7—Cambridge Trotting Club. May 5. 7 —Forbury Park Trotting Club. Juno 18, 22—Auckland Trotting Club. NOTES BY PICADOR. Two wins in three starts is tho Tccord of Festive Mom this season and her efforts have stamped her aa a very capable unhoppled pacer. It is, therefore, not supriaing that she is being freely discussed in connection with the Cambridge Trotting Cup. One thing that may be against her is that she has had no recent racing, tor she has not appeared in public since winning tho Papatoetoe Handicap in 4.30 2-5 at Alexandra Park in November. The roan pacer Taiparo has a couple of engagements at Cambridge and in view cf his good form this season he will be fancied in whatever lie starts. Taipare goes well in either saddle or narness and is one of the most improved pacers in this province. His latest winning exjiloit was in the Kopu Handicap at Thames >n l.larch, whea he went. 2.54 2-5, beating, among others. Admiral Lock and Great Peter. For a green trotter Paradigm went well when he had his first start at Thames in March. On that occasion he was narrowly beaten and considered rather unlucky n£>t to win, so that he should have prospects in the weak class in the Introductory Handicap at Cambridge, more especially as he ia likely to be a better horse now. When Boez finished third to Bright Light avuFCaterpillar in tho Matapu Handicap at Hawera on Easter Saturday she was credited with going tho mile and a-half in 3.48 1-5. 11l her next start Roez did not do quite so well, yet. she finished fourth, and a repetition of her best previous form should cause her to be hard to beat off a 3.51 mark in the Introductory Handicap at Cambridge. Despite tho fact that he has been unplaced in his last few starts, there, is an impression among keen followers of the light harness sport that Gaza is a very useful pacer arid one that is likely to do better than lie lias yet shown. Gaza is in a class that should suit him in the Hautapu Handicap at Cambridge, where he is handicapped to do 3.2 for a milo and a-qnarter. It was intended to give tho two-year-old tilly Bonniewah her first race at Cambridge, but sho missed the acceptances through a slight delay in the completion of her registration papers. Bonniewah is going along nicely and all going well she. will probably make her first public appearance in one of the minor events at tho Auckland Winter Meeting in June. THE CAMBRIDGE MEETING. The Cambridge Trotting Club holds its annual meeting next Saturday, and the character of tho acceptances received for the various events afford excellent promise of providing a capital day's sport, and with fine weather the progressive spirits responsible ior the promotion of the sport at Cambridge ehould have tho satisfaction of seeing a recoid attendance on tho ground to assist at the gathering. Special train arrangements are announced, particulars of whicfi will be found set forth in an advertisement appearing in another column. FORBURY PARK MEETING. [BJ TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, Tuesday. Nighborn and Haimui hay© been scratched for their engagements on the first day of the Forbury Park Trotting Club's meeting. Glenelg was wrongly included in the list of accejitors for tho Prince of Wales 'Handicap.
