Vincent last evening:— Cold and wintry weather is indicatedj with heavy rain at intervals over most of the Dominion. Southerly to southeasterly winds, strong to giilo> and squally. Hail and thunder in western districts, and snow on the higher levels in the south. Seas rough. A southerly extension of the extensive cyclonic disturbance has resulted in a storm centre being located eastward of East Cape, while an energetic Antarctic disturbance has developed south-westward of New Zealand, the two storm systems combining. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows-Present indications are for westerly to southerly winds, strong to gale; dull, cold and squally weather, with heavy rain in many parts and snow on the higher levels.
