NEW RECORD FOR ROSE. PERFORMANCE AT MASTERTON. [by TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT, i MASTERTON, Tuesday. Competing at the fire brigade sports at Masterton, R. A. Rose was unsuccessful in his attempt to lower the world's record of 14m 11 l-5s for three miles, but he broke the Australian and New Zealand record by 15 l-ss, by covering the distance in 14m 80s. This is 4 l-5s better than the time he recently registered at Wellington. Rose won the race comfortably. NGONGOTAHA CLUB'S SPORTS. fBY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. 1 NGONGOTAHA, Tuesday. The inaugural sports meeting of the Ngongotaha Sport 3 Club took place m fine weather. The club was formed only a little over a month asro, but the meeting was a great succesß. The optimism of the club in donating over £BO in prise money was fully justified both by the, number of entries and the patronage of tbe public.
