WOLF-BOY IN INDIA.
DISCOVERY IN THE JUNGLE. POLICE VOUCH FOR STORY. CALCUTTA, April 6. Another jungle child has been discovered, this time in a wolves' cave 75 miles from Allahabad. He is now in the workhouse in Allahabad under medical obseivation, preparatory to being taken to the Bareilly Mental Home. The boy, who is reckoned to be between seven and twelve years old, is undernourished, and shows distinct signs of mental deficiency. In a bazaar crowd he would probably not be noticed, but in his actions he betrays signs of his upbringing, which would be convincing even if definite proof were not forthcoming of his having been nurtured by wolves. The facts given by the herdsmen who discovered the boy are substantiated by the police. The boy had an enormous appetite, crawls a good deal, and occasionally makes ferocious attacks on his guardians.
