DOMINION EXPERT HONOURED ELECTED TO AMERICAN BODY. LBT TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] WELLINGTON. Thursday. It is announced that Dr. L. Cockayne, of Wellington, has been elected a corresponding member of the Botanical Society of America. Founded in 1907, this society is the largest of its kind in the world. The corresponding members now number 15, among whom are six foreign members of the Linnean Society'of London, two foreign members of, the Royal Society, three Royal Medallists and one Darwin Medallist. The only British subjects so far elected are Dr. F. Bower, emeritus professor of University; Dr. A. Seward, professor at Cambridge University; Dr. V. H. lege of Science and Technology; and Dx\ Cockayne.
