MR. JOHN B. O'HARA. (Received March 31, 7.55 p.m.) A. and N.Z. MELBOURNE. March 31. The death has occurred of Mr. John Bernard O'Hara, the well-known poet, aged 63. Mr. John Bernard O'Hara was ■ boru at Bendigo in 1864, Ho went to Melbourne University aud studied mathematics and physics, and m 1889 was appointed principal oi South Melbourne College. In 1881) ho won a prize for poetry at the Melbourne Industrial Exhibition. He had published various volumes of verse including " Songs of the South," " Lyrics of Nature," " A Book of Sonnets," " Odes and Lyrics," and in 1918 he published a collected volume, "The Poems of John B. O'Hara.'' He was one of the leading poets of the Australian school.
