LEAGUE FOOTBALL.

JUNIOR COMPETITIONS. HUNDRED TEAMS EXPECTED. MEETING -.OF COMMITTEE. The annual meeting of the Junior Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby League was held last evening. Mr. A. Adamson presided. The annual report stated that the total number of junior players exceeded 1500. The standard of play had throughout the season been excellent, and tho general team play had greatly improved. Special reference was made to the work of tho judicial committee, and it was stated that general satisfaction had been given in regard to protests, and other matters concerning the government of junior football. The secretary reported that last season S4 teams were nominated, and the prospects for the coming seasctn were particularly bright. It was fully anticipated that the nominations ■would approach 100 teams. The question o£ grounds was discussed. The chairman reported an acute shortage. He emphasised that all clubs should be on the watch for playing fields, thereby relieving the present anxiety experienced by most sports bodies. i It was decided that nominations for all junior grades should close on April 12. The opening games will in oil probability commence on April 30. Mr. W. J. Hammill donated a cup for competition among the junior teams, and it was allotted to the sixth B grade. The following officers were elected agement Committee. Messrs. A. Adamson. (chairman), A. Rae, C. Chapman, R. Short, F. Kennedy, S. H. Davis, S. Montgomery, W. Hillborn. C. Howe, A. P. Trembath, A. Hopkinson, T. Cleal, H. Douglas, E. W. Perry (hon. secretary); emergency committee, Messrs. T. Cleal, A. Chapman, R Short. Tho appointment ot a grounds and weighing committee was deferred until tho next meeting, wliich will be held on Tuesday. REMUERA CLUB REVIVED. TWO JUNIOR TEAMS. In 1914 two strong junior teams represented the Remuera League Club. It is intended to revive the club's activities and already several meotings havo been held. During the present week a general meeting was called, and 36 enthusiasts attended. It is intended to nominato two junior teams, and tho present membership is over 30. The revival of tho club has been in the hands of Mr. F. Thompson, tho well-known referee, find Mr. F. White and L. Dickenson, two League enthusiasts. Mr. W. J. Hammill, chairman of the Management Committee of the Auckland League, addressed the gathering, and answered many Questions concerning the future policy of tho code. The following officers were elected:—President, Dr. Pezaro; hon. Bocretary, Mr, G. McConnell; hon. treasurer. Mr. A. Grey: chairman, Mr. L. Dickenson.
