LARGE NUMBER OF BEQUESTS. ESTATE PLACED AT £350,000. MANY INSTITUTIONS BENEFIT, Charitable bequests totalling £9350 havo been made in the will of the late Sir Henry Brett, which has been lodged for probate. ■ The value of the estate has been announced at about £350,000 by the executors, Mr. A. R. Brett and the Guardian Trust and Executors Company of New Zealand. Various institutions, which during the lifetime of Sir Henry had reason to thank him for his philanthropy, were not forgotten, and have benefited by his will. W. G. Monckton, which bring the total amount to £9350. Members of his staff were also kept in Sir Henry's memory, for 18 old employees of the Auckland Star have been left bequests totalling £4300. Ho also remembered in his will all those members of the staff who have been in the employ of the firm for over 30 years. Bequests to his private employees at his residence at Takapuna are also included, and in addition there are legacies to friends in Auckland, and relatives in England and Canada. The residue of the estate is divided among the late Sir Henry's sons, daughters and grandchildren. A largo holding of Government bonds is available for the payment of death duties. Tribute to the memory of Sir Henry Brett was paid at the meeting of the Auckland Hospital Board last evening, when reference was made to his interest in the Auckland Hospital. A motion of condolence with Lady Brett and the family in their loss was carried, members standing in silence.
