BUSY FRENCH , PLUMBER. LEAD STRIPPED. ..FROM . ROOF. PARIS, Jan. 19. The cool theft of a ton and a-half of lead from Batignolles railway station provides another illustration of the proverb, " Everybody's business is nobody's business." ■ " - ■ For three months a plumber - was ' seen to be toiling all - day long,'and he" wis not interfered with until yesterday; when a porter noticed that the plumber's bag was unduly heavy. He found that it contained 50Jb. of lead. Then it was discovered that the plumber had, without permission,..stripped all the lead from the. station roof and had. sold it for £35.. The. roof will have to be releaded at a cost- of £3(X),
