There was a large attendance including tlie personal and proxy representation of Australian sportsmen. Prices took a' wide range, four figures being obtained for the best lots, while some went for a mere song, or were passed in. Several new owners were operating, and some of the lots so secured will be trained at Trentham.

The highest price of the sale was given,by the latter trainer for the bay colt by Absurd from Bronze (brother to Glenross, Grotesque, and. Anklet). bred by Mr. G. M. Currie.
