WAIT EM ATA CLUB CARNIVAL. The Waitemata Swimming Club will hold its second gala at the tepid! baths on Tuesday evening. A fine programme has been arranged, and as all the local champions will be competing, some exciting finishes should be witnessed. GALA AT CAMBRIDGE. OPENING OF SEASON. [BY TEEEGKAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHANG AKEI, Friday. Following upon the opening of tho Whangarei swimming baths yesterday afternoon, a carnival took place when a lengthy programme was decided. A. Dudley won the Whangarei High School championship over 100 yards from B Bissett in good time. The High School Girls championship was secured by J. Forster from K. Foster and Vita Kelly, the time being 57 2-ss. Other principal results were:— Primary Schools Boys, 25yds.—Conagha.n, 1; Chissell, 2; Butt, 3.
