FASHIONS IN FUR.
Summer furs aro dyed—most of them are, no doubt,, rabbit. Cuffs and collars appear in violet, emerald, mauve—they have been white bunny. New Zealand rabbitiikiniSj, when used for trimmings, are stencilled to look like tiger and leopard, and possibly soma New Zealand people will be buying these not knowing then country of origin,, says our London correspondent. Coloured clipped ostrich is useful as trimming' for evening wraps, and many an « veiling coat or race-coat of transparent. Eicon or georgette will be finished round the hem with a deep border of coloured fur. In Paris, too, there is a great supply to cope with this summer demand',, an d the furriers are try mg new ways of using the skins. For instance, there is summer ermine, a beigecoloured .fur; there 13 natural astrakhan, a cafe-au-lait colour; there is white ermine and white rabbit, and Persian lamb shaved almost smooth And now there is a call for more lizards, snakes acd iio.ch-li.ka creeping reptiles. The milliner wants, them, the bootmaker literally uses them by the thousand, the bagmaker and the dressmaker have uses for them. With for skins and all kinds >f leather, with felt and wool, are many of the most attractive summer clothes being made and trimmed. In Paris, too, you may meet a grey jersey dress and 'jumper, and over it a greeri suede coat trimmed with moleskin and a hat to match. There is nothing more charming than these soft suede and leather coats io one or mors colours, bright, not dull, which are worn, over jersey and Kasha dresses. A leather coat in Indian red., trimmed with black, looks well over almost any woollen skirl: and jumper in soft shades of beige, brown, green or blue. The little hat may | match either the coat or the skirt and jumper, wstb which goes also a scan Some of the leather coats are short, others long, and'they usually have belti. j to draw in the ample, but not lull., fold# , round the hips.
