CHRISTMAS GOODS DELAYED
TROUBLES OF IMPORTERS. [B7 TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] WE]jLINGTON, Tuesday. Some importers will be placed in the awkward position of missing the Christmas market with goods which will have little sale afterwards. The delay is due to various causes, -chiefly the coal strike in England, which prevented orders! being executed in time. Further trouble was caused by the delay to the Mahana owing to the use of" German coal. The Aiataroa was diverted to Wellington to land immigrants. She now proceeds to Auckland, and will not land her Wellington cargo before Christmas. The Arawa took 44 days instead of 38 to make the passage to New Zealand.
