A claim for specific performance was brought in the Hamilton Supreme Court By William Fredericks, boardinghouse proprietor, Te Kuiti (Mr. E. M. Mackersey), against Henry William Swift, ffancy goods dealer, Te Kuiti (Mr. J. ID. Vernon).

It was stated by counsel for plaintiff jihat plaintiS entered into an agreement to lease a shop in the Midland Hotel building in Te Kuiti for a period of seven years. Defendant refused to complete the agreement and the Court was asked to make an order for its specific 'performance. After a conference between the parties St was finally agreed that defendant would tak« a lease of the shop for four fears from to-day and pay the plaintiff £lO5 in settlement of past rent, and pajr costs ai the proceedings.
