EXPLOSION IN MINE.
TOTAL DEATH-ROLL OF 26. FURTHER SEARCH ABANDONED. A. and N.Z. VANCOUVER. Dec. 10. A message from Princeton, Indiana, says that 71 miners were imprisoned as a result of the mine explosion there on Thursday.
Of these 45 were rescued alive, 23 were dead, and three bodies have not yet been recovered.
Three men were missing when the mine was ordered to be sealed on Friday, following a second blast.
