LONG TRIP TO HOSPITAL.

A painful accident befell Mr. Angus Denize, of Waikawau, at Mr, Harry Johnson's homestead, at Port Jackson, Cape Colville, where he was assisting in shearing operations. Mr. Denize was cranking up an oil engine which supplied the power for the shears, when it back-fired. The crank handle struck him on the forehead and rendered liim insensible for some time. He wsis brought by launch to Corornandel, the trip taking seven hours, and conveyed to the hospital, where he is making a good recovery.
