GAS-POISONING CASE.
" I MUST GO TO SLEEP."
The inquest concerning the death of Thomas Gilbert Jackson last Friday was concluded during the week-end before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. A commission agent said he called at deceased's lodgings in Burleigh Street on Friday morning and found the room full of gas. Jackson was obviously dead. A constable produced a note in which deceased said: "I am tired and I must go to sleep." There was also a message of an affectionate nature to his wife. G. W. White, father-in-law of deceased, said he had been for a trip to Europe and had left deceased to attend to his garden. He had discovered that deceased had got into financial difficulties in his absence.
The coroner found that deceased committed suicide by gas-poisoning.
