GAME AGAINST FRENCHMEN. VICTORY BY 10 POINTS. A. and N.Z. . LONDON, Dec. ,5. The Maori Rugby football team resumed their French tour to-day, when at Bordeaux they brilliantly defeated a selected French team by 13 points (a dropped goal and three tries) to 3 points (one try). There was an attendance of 12,000. The match was played on a dry ground and in fair weather. France failed to take advantage of a free kick against the Maoris for obstruction, and the visitors attacked. Phillips dropped a brilliant goal. Villa replied with a try, which was not converted. Jaurreguy , who was a pillar of strength to the jiome side, narrowly missed putting the Frenchmen ahead. Pelham added an other unconverted try for the Maoris. Their defence staved off a vigorous attack, and they led at half-time by 7 points to 3. Jaurrcguy ran brilliantly, but was tackled in time. The general weakness of the French team in defence enabled Falwasser to score a try after a fine run, which Jaurreguy almost stopped. 'The visitors again attacked, in spite of fine tackling by Dumanoir, and scored a third unconverted try. Their win was due to strong, fast running and speedy breaking up. Phillips was the out stand ing player of the visitors, the best Frenchmen being Jaurreguy, Dumanoir and Graciei, •
