Mr. Mark Davis, founder oli the firm of Messrs, Grierson and Davis, wine and ' spirit merchants, of Christcnurch, died this morning at the age of 66, He had varied public and sporting interests. He had been in poor health for tho last nine months. . The late Mr. Davis was born in London. and arrived with his parents in New Zealand when he was. about six years oI age. Hei received his education at Nelson Coll ego and Cook's School, Christchorch, later assisting his father in the lattcr's busineiss," as a general merchant. Mr. Davis founded the firm of Messrs. Grierson and Davis about 25 year? ago, and came ltd be well known in Chriatchurcb and practically all parts of New Zealand,
