SUICIDE OF MAORI.

EVIDENCE AT THE INQUEST. An inquest concerning the death of Tupu Waiheke Montgomery, a half-caste Maori who was found dead on Wednesday evening at Parkhurst, Holensville, as the result of a gunshot wound, was held at Helensvillo yesterday, before Mr. J. A. Wilson. It was stated that deceased, who was married with one child, had been employed as a share-milker by Mr. R, Fez-rail, of Parkhurst. Ho went to Holensville on Wednesday and on .lis return seemed to be in the best of spirits. Taking his employer's shotgun he loaded both barrels and went to his bedroom His domestic relations were quite happy and no motivo could bo assigned • for his act. A verdict was returned that death Was due to a gunshot wound self-inflicted while temporarily insane.
