RADIO BROADCASTING.
IMPROVEMENTS' IN FUTURE.
VIEWS OF.. MR. PRENTICE.
The future of radio broadcasting in New Zealand was discussed at, the first dinner held by members of the Radio Dealers' Association on Wednesday evening. Mr. B. 'Stevens presided, and there were over 50 : present.
Mr. J. M. Prentice, who was recently appointed announcer and executive Officer to the Etadio Broadcasting Company of New Zealand, urged* the trade to sell only the best equipment. Bad service was fary harmful because it gave bad results. There was a goal to attain which the radio trade should strive.- If the association set itself the task, of securing 100,000 listener:i-in the .revenue, derived . would be ample to provide the, whole of New Zealand with a first-class service.
Mr.' Prentice predicted an early improvement in the • broadcasting service. The talent was here and when the worth of ■ artists as broadcasters had been assessed, they would be engaged and adequately remunerated ' The local broadcasting company had a, splendid plant. Reference to the enterprise of the broadcasting company in engaging the services of Mr. Prentice was made by Mr. J. L. Davies. He stated they could expect a great improvement as the result of his knowledge and advice.
