THE FLOWER SHOW.

SUCCESS OF EXHIBITION. The second day of the Auckland Horticultural Society's flower show attracted a large attendance yesterday afternoon and evening. Only the decorated tables class remained to bo judged. The first award in this section was made to Mrs. Smart, Mrs. Miller being second and Mrs. Parks third. The displays of Mrs. Charles Brown and Miss L. Cutfield were highly commended. All the tables were models of artistic arrangement and were notable for their wonderful blending of colour. In commenting on the show last evening Mr. H. Cutler, a prominent rosegrower, said the display was the most comprehensive ever hold by the society. The beautiful Southern Court arranged by Onehunga exhibitors and the splendid display of the Auckland Racing Club were features never seen in Auckland before. The magnificent gladioli blooms were also record exhibits and deserved the highest praise. The decorated tables compared more than favourably with past shows. The style adopted in this class was essentially modern, most exhibitors favouring low arrangements instead of a high bunch of flowers towering above the table, which was popular several years ago. The secretary reported that the entries exceeded those of previous shows.
