LATE ARRIVAL OF TRAIN.
COMPLAINT FROM ROTORUA.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] ROTORUA, Thursday. The continued lateness of the train from Frankton Junction which is timed to reach Rotorua at 12.40 p.m. is the cause of much inconvenience to business men .d the community generally. A number people from adjacent districts use this train to do their shopping in Rotorua. The lateness of the rain varies from 15 minutes to one hour and twenty minutes. The residents affected have made many complaints but no permanent improvement has taken place. It is thought the time set down for running the train is quite suitable, but that the failure to keep to the time-table renders it almost useless. One effect is to make it impossible to deal with correspondence by that mail so as to reply by return post. In this instance it is felt that "time is the essence of the contract."
