PIGEON FLYING.
DOMINION CLUB. The Dominion Homing Club flew its hen bird championship from Taumarunui on Saturday for a trophy donatecf by Mr. Mflham. A good tail wind favoured the birds and the winning bird covered the 145 miles in record time. Results:—Messrs. W, Rowe and Son's r op h. Lady Patience, velocity 1780 yds per minute, 1; Mr. A. Bedford's b c p hj, Tufty, 1768 yds, 2; Mr. A. Pdrkes' b c p hj, Alma, 1767 yds, 3. Also flew:Mr. F. Potter's bo p hj, Littl Baker, 1765 yds; Mr. L,. Cantell's bk p h. Lady Everton, 1762 yds: Mr. F. Milham's b b p h. Havoc, 1743 yds; Mr. J HipwelTs b c h. Avalanche, 1737 yds. The club will fly a race from Ohakune this week. !*■•• TEE TAURANGA CLUB. [B3T TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] TAURANGA, Monday. A race from Auckland to Tauranga waß held under the auspices of the Tauranga Racing Pigeon Club. The distance is approximately 98 miles air-line. . Results are:—N. V. Prime's Boomerang, velocity 1143.4yd5. per minute. 1: W. J. Stevens' Wildfire. 1138.3yd5., 2; H. Stevens' Limelight, 1127.7yd5., 3. Boomerang won by 40s. Nest week-end the club intends to race from Kawakawa.
