SENTENCE OF 483 YEARS*. The State Advocate at Madrid has brought in a true bill against Luis de Granja and Victoriano Sans—the latter is in exile—who ar« arraigned on 33 different charges of forgery and swindling, committed jointly. The conclusions of this official agree with those cf the Public Prosecutor, who demanded a sentence of 14 years 8 months and one day's penal servitude for each one of the 33 offences. Luis de Granja will thus be sentenced to a term of imprisonment. exceeding 483 years. Such are the Gilbertian provisions of the Spanish penal code.
