WELLINGTON NOTES. SALE OF FOOL'S PARADISE. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] WELLINGTON, Monday. With the disposal of the New Zealand Cup meeting Trentham trainers have set themselves for fixtures nearer home, and the local stables will have horses racing at Levin, Ashhurst and Feilding. Most of the trainers arrived home on Sunday, but one or two did not stay to see the week out in Christchurch. Albert Goodman was one of the local trainers who did not go to Christchurcb. He has practically all his team engaged at Levin next Saturday. Black Mint appears to be particularly well placed in the Mako Mako Hack Handicap. Mr. E. Riddiford sold Pool's Paradise to the Victorian owner. Mr. Otway Fa'.kiner. after the Jockey Club Handicap at Riccax r ton, the price being 2000 guineas. The son of Absurd leaves for his new home by the Ulimaroa on Friday. He must be accounted well sold. He raced unsuccessfully in his now owner's interests on Saturday. H. B. Lorigan did not see the Riccarton meeting out, but returned home to superintend the horses he has engaged at Ashhurst. Ot these Gauntlet on his recent form looks particularly well placed in the hurdle race S. Reid has Indian Sage and Note engaged at Levin. Freshened up Indian Sage might do well, but the Levin course, unless a good deal of rain falls, will not favour him. Taking a lino through Piuthair and Avola the Trentham mare Modem is not badly placed in the McDonald Memorial Handicap at Levin on Saturday. THE LEVIN- MEETING. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] LEVIN. Monday. Lhasa was omitted from the telegraphed list of acceptances for the Mako Mako Handicap, to bo run at the Levin meeting.
