AMATEUR CYCLING.
TAIHAPE CLUB'S EVENTS. [BY TEI.EGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAIHAPE, Wednesday. The Taihape Amateur Cycling Club held three races on the Recreation Ground on Mondav afternoon, under perfect track and weather conditions. There was a lej-ge attendance of the public. Mr. C. Cherry was the starter, and Messrs. W. 8. Heyes, R. Ormond and Ericsson the judges. The handicapper was Mr. G, Flight. The races resulted as follow : Nine-lap Race.—K. Anderson. 1; C. Ericsson. 2: Olliver, 3. This was a great race. Ericsson camo through at a great pace in the latter half of the final lap, but just failed to reach the first man. Time 7m 5a Six Lap Race.—Olliver. 1; Hunter, 2; Anderson, 3; C. Ericsson (scr.), 4. The winner passed the post 50 yards ahead of Hunter, with Anderson 25 yards further back. Four Lap Race.—Treadwill. 1; Olliver. 2; C. Ericsson (scr.). 3. Olliver and Treadwill paced each other and got away in the lead with Ericsson coming up fast. It was a hard-fought finish. The points prize for the races held during the season was won by C, Ericsson, with 14 points. Hunter was second with 13 points and Anderson third vith 12.
