r FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS. f [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] GISBORNE. Wednesday. 5 Arrangements in connection with the • funeral of the late Sir James Carroll, > M.L.C., are being finalised. Most of the j native tribes on the eastern side of the t North Island have sent delegations to exi press sympathy with Lady Carroll. To- | morrow the Ngatirangi tribe (Tauranga), Ngatiawa (Whakatane), Arawas (Roto--1 rua) and Tuhoes (Urewera Country), will arrive in Gisborne. Intimations have been • received that various local bodies and . public institutions will have representatives at the futieral. In accordance with Maori custom 5 Maori mourners will take up a position ; at the burial ground and await the arrival 3 of the body. The order of the cortege " has been tentatively arranged pending receipt of further intimation from local > bodies and institutions which intend to { be represented at the funeral. . The place of interment is private ground a few miles outside Gisborne.
