CASES OF DROWNING.
INMATE OF THE INFIRMARY. BODY FOUND AT NORTHCOTE. The body of Mr. Malcolm McLeod, an elderly man, who had been an inmate of the Auckland Infirmary, was found on the shore in Shoal Bay, about six chains from Northcoto Wharf, early yestorday morning. Tho body was unclothed and there were several abrasions as the result of buffeting on tho rocks. Tho clothes were found near the Birkenhead Wharf yesterday afternoon. It is believed that Mr. McLeod entered the water some time on Monday evening and that, the body was carried on to the shore by the flowing tide, which reached its highest point at midnight. Mr. McLeod was last seen at tho Infirmary on Monday' morning shortly before breakfast. The middle-aged woman who was found drowned in the Manukau Harbour on Monday morning has been identified as Mrs. Margaret Armstrong, of Whangalvi, who had been living in King Goorge Avenue, Epsom. The suede handbag, fawn coat and pink hat found on the Mangere Bridge belonged to Mrs. Armstrong.
