EXHIBITION IN CANADA.
THE NEW ZEALAND SECTION. MUCH INTEREST MANIFESTED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. 5 WELLINGTON. Friday. The deputy commissioner of the Department of Industries and Commerce, Mr. J. W. Collins, has reported to the Department on the Dominion's exhibit at the Canadian National Exhibition, which was held at Toronto from August 28 to September 11. The space occupied by the New Zealand section was 22,000 square feet. The cinema programmes were very popular.. Sixteen sittings with attendances of 120 people at each.took place every day. The greatest interest was taken in the New Zealand exhibits. Inquiries had been made by traders in Canada as to the possibility of conducting business in such goods as New Zealand-made travelling rugs, blankets, binder twine, agricultural seeds (particularly grass), and tinned delicacies. The tourist bureau which had been set up in the New Zealand section had readily supplied information. On the firs* day a party of four had been booked up for a six weeks' tour of the Dominion An estimated cost, excluding hotel expenses, of £IOO a head. A number of people had signified vfleir intention of visiting New Zealand at the first opportunity. It was rather disconcerting, continues the report, to find from the agents o! the Union Steam Ship Company in Toronto that their vessels sailing from Vaaoravqr and San Francisco were fully booketl jo® for some months ahead. This applied especially to the Vancouver vessels.
