BEAM WIRELESS.
THE AUSTRALIAN STATION. SOME DELAY CERTAIN. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 12. It is" understood that further tests of Canada's beam wireless system have substantially eliminated the " fading" difficulty, but the station is not yet in a position to be handed over for traffic. This is not likely for some weeks yet. After the Canadian station has been opened the African station will be completed. Consequently the Australian station is certain to be delayed well beyond the contract time. It is stated in London that thero is no intention of hurrying with the work as it is desired to obtain the best results. >■■■ i
