STATE TAXATION RECEIPTS. INCREASE PER HEAD SHOWN. A. and N.Z. BRISBANE. Oct. 13. The report of tho Queensland AuditorGeneral shows that receipts from State taxation in the year 1925-26 equalled £4 15s 4d per head of the population, compared with £2 2s 9d per head 10 years ago. Tho interest on the public debt in tho same period increased from £4 4s 7d per head to £5 6s 4d per head. In the Legislative Assembly tho Government introduced a bill to increase cheque duty by 100 per cent, to 2d. It is anticipated that this increase will yield £50,000 a year.
