An impressive ceremony was performed at. the new Parliament House at, Canberra. A replica of the Speaker's chair in the House of Commons, London, was preprinted to the Commonwealth Parliament by the visiting Empire Parliamentary delegates. The chair is made of oak taken from the original roof of Westminster Hall and timber from Nelson's flagship, the Victory.
